Charlie and Sydney Herbst of Cape Girardeau announce the engagement of their daughter, Erin Jessie Herbst, to Jared Michael Bieser, both of Overland Park, Kan. Bieser is a 2004 graduate of St. Louis University High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in computer science from Truman in 2008. He is a software engineer at Cerner Corp. in Kansas City, Mo.
An Oct. 15 wedding is planned at Grace United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau.
