Gowin-Rhymer

OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Phil and Tracy Atherton of Ullin, Ill., and Bret Gowin of Olive Branch announce the engagement of their daughter, Destiny Gowin, to Curt Rhymer. He is the son of Sherry Moore of Vienna, Ill.

Gowin is a 1998 graduate of Century High School, and received an associate of arts degree from Shawnee Community College in 2000. She is employed at the State Farm Office in Anna, Ill.

Rhymer is a 1997 graduate of Vienna High School. He received a degree in composition and rhetoric at Eastern Kentucky University in 2001. He is coordinator of the Street Outreach Program at the Delta Center in Cairo, Ill.

A Sept. 3 wedding is planned at Ullin First Baptist Church.
