Essner - Hamm

KELSO, Mo. -- Ralph and Donna Essner of Kelso announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Marie Essner, to John Paul Hamm. He is the son of Larry and Paulette Hamm of Benton, Mo.

Essner is a 2005 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School. She received an associate of arts degree from Jefferson College in Hillsboro, Mo., in 2007, and a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Southeast Missouri State University in 2011. She is a registered nurse in the Progressive Care Unit at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Hamm is a 2001 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in exercise science from Southeast in 2006, an associate of science degree in nursing from Shawnee Community College in 2008, and a bachelor of science in nursing from Southeast in 2010. He is a registered nurse in the Progressive Care Unit at Saint Francis.

An Aug. 31 wedding is planned at St. Augustine Church in Kelso.
