JACKSON, Mo. -- Margaret Thorne of Hudson, Fla., announces the engagement of her daughter, Christy L. Thorne, to Shannon L. Hardy. He is the son of Nancy Hardy and Robert "Bob" Hardy of Jackson. Thorne is also the daughter of the late Jerry L. Thorne.

Thorne is a sales/customer service representative with Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in Cape Girardeau.
