ENGAGEMENTS: SPLINTER-BLACK

JACKSON -- John and Marcia Splinter of LaCrosse, Wis., have announced the engagement of their daughter, Kirsten Erica Splinter, to Vince Michael Black. He is the son of Randy and Sandy Black of Jackson.

Splinter is a 1993 graduate of Kirkwood High School. She received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Truman State University in 1997, and a master's degree in counseling from Covenant Theological Seminary in 1999. She is a family support counselor with Habitat for Humanity in St. Louis.

Black is a 1994 graduate of Jackson High School. He received bachelor degrees in art and biblical studies from Union University in 1998. He is a management employee with Starbucks Coffee Co. in St. Louis.

A Jan. 8 wedding is planned at Central Presbyterian Church in Clayton.
