JACKSON, Mo. -- Roxanna Sooudi and Matthew Statler announce their engagement. She is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Iradj Sooudi of Birmingham, Ala. Statler is the son of Judge and Mrs. Peter Statler of Jackson. Sooudi attended Vanderbilt University, and is completing a Ph.D. at Columbia University in the department of Spanish and Portuguese...

JACKSON, Mo. -- Roxanna Sooudi and Matthew Statler announce their engagement. She is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Iradj Sooudi of Birmingham, Ala. Statler is the son of Judge and Mrs. Peter Statler of Jackson.

Sooudi attended Vanderbilt University, and is completing a Ph.D. at Columbia University in the department of Spanish and Portuguese.

Statler attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, and received a Ph.D. in philosophy at Vanderbilt University. He is a strategy consultant on Wall Street.

A Sept. 1 wedding is planned in Birmingham.
