ENGAGEMENTS: PARKS-ROTH

JACKSON, Mo. -- Harley and Sallye Shields of Parsons, Kan., announce the engagement of their daughter, Tammy L. Parks, to Daniel B. Roth. He is the son of David and Carol Roth of Jackson.

Parks is a 1986 graduate of Labette County High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in secondary education in 1991, and a master of science degree in secondary education in 1995, from Pittsburg State University. She is a high school math teacher at Unified School District 446 in Independence, Kan.

Roth is a 1982 graduate of St. Paul's College High School. He received a bachelor of arts degree in secondary education from Concordia College in River Forest, Ill., in 1986. He received a master of science degree in occupational safety and health from Murray State University in Murray, Ky., in 1989. He is a corporate safety officer with Remediation Service in Independence.

An Aug. 11 wedding is planned at Zion Lutheran Church in Independence.
