Gerald and Cathy Nicholson of Cape Girardeau announce the engagement of their daughter, Brianna Nicholson of Chicago, to Chelsea Coale of Goose Creek, S.C. He is the son of Vernon and Linda Coale of Cape Girardeau.

Nicholson is a 1996 graduate of Central High School, and a 2000 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University.

Coale is a 1994 graduate of Clinton High School in Clinton, Miss., and a 1997 graduate of Mississippi College in Clinton. He is serving in the U.S. Navy.

A June 2 wedding is planned in Charleston, S.C.
