JACKSON -- Marvin and Dianna Bodenschatz of Jackson announce the engagement of their daughter, Jodi Lea Morton, to Neal Edward Scherer. He is the son of Anna Scherer of Benton, and the late Ralph Scherer.

Morton is a 1986 graduate of Jackson High School. She is employed at C.P. McGinty Jewelers Inc. in Cape Girardeau.

Scherer is a 1985 graduate of Notre Dame High School, attended Southeast Missouri State University, and is a 1991 graduate of ITT Tech.

A May 20 wedding is planned in the rock garden at Jackson Park.
