John and Terri Edney of Cape Girardeau have announced the engagement of their daughter, Sara Jo Edney of Arlington Heights, Ill., to Michael Stephen Woitel of Chicago. John and Terri Edney of Cape Girardeau have announced the engagement of their daughter, Sara Jo Edney of Arlington Heights, Ill., to Michael Stephen Woitel of Chicago. He is the son of John and Marilyn Woitel of Oak Park, Ill.

Edney is a 1995 graduate of Notre Dame High School, and 1999 graduate of Christian Brothers University. She is an electrical engineer with Motorola.

Woitel is a 1994 graduate of Fenwick High School, and 1998 graduate of Christian Brothers University. He is a software engineer with Motorola.

A May 27 wedding is planned at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
