ENGAGEMENTS: CROSS-MCBRIDE

JACKSON, Mo. -- Mark and Beth Cross of Portageville, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Marca Malyn Cross, to Jason McBride. He is the son of Glenn and Madelein McBride of Jackson.

Cross is a 1995 graduate of Portageville High School, and received a degree in agronomy from Southeast Missouri State University in 2000. She is employed at 1st Tire and Wheel in Cape Girardeau.

McBride is a 1994 graduate of Central High School, served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps and attained the rank of sergeant, and is a graduate of Southeast University Law Enforcement Academy. He is a deputy with Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Department.

A September wedding is planned.
