Bridges is a 2000 graduate of Central High School. She received a bachelor of health science and a master of occupational therapy in 2005 from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Hood is a 1995 graduate of Woodlawn High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in finance from Southern Illinois University in 1999.

A May 13 wedding is planned at Grace United Methodist Church.
