Blattner - Schmitt

John A. and Jane Blattner of Cape Girardeau announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Beth Blattner, to Timothy Joseph Schmitt. He is the son of JoAnn Schmitt of Chaffee, Mo.

Blattner is a 2004 graduate of Notre Dame High School. She received a bachelor's degree in health promotion from Southeast Missouri State University in 2008. She is employed at Noffel/Feuerhahn Center for Orthodontics.

Schmitt is a 2001 graduate of Kelly High School. He received a bachelor's degree in physical and elementary education from Southeast in 2007, and is pursuing a master's degree in athletic administration at William Woods University. He is employed at Blanchard Elementary School.

A June 3 wedding is planned in Orange Beach, Ala.
