Beel-Tuthill

Roy and Barb Beel of Jackson announce the engagement of their daughter, Emma Beel, to Shawn Tuthill. He is the son of Roney and Rene Tuthill of Marion, Ill.

Beel is a 2002 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School. She received a bachelor's degree in special education from Fontbonne University in St. Louis in 2006. She is an elementary teacher with Sikeston School District.

Tuthill is a 1998 graduate of Marion High School. He received an associate degree in criminal justice from John A. Logan College in Carterville, Ill., in 2000. He is assistant manager at Matrix Sales in Marion.

An Oct. 7 wedding is planned at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau.
