Baer- McAlister

Kerry and Donna Thompson of Scott City and Richard Baer of Old Appleton, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Sidney Ann Baer, to Matthew Lee McAlister. He is the son of Talmas and Lena McAlister of Scott City.

Baer is a 2003 graduate of Scott City High School. She is pursuing a degree in elementary education at Southeast Missouri State University.

McAlister is a 2004 graduate of Scott City High School. He is serving in the U.S. Navy.

A May 21 wedding is planned at Francine's Gardens in Cape Girardeau.
