Baber-Cook

Margaret Baber of Cape Girardeau and David and Marsha Baber of Scott City announce the engagement of their daughter, Keri Elizabeth Baber, to Douglas Wilson Cook, both of Burbank, Calif. He is the son of Glen and Mary Ellen Cook of Cape Girardeau.

Baber is a 1995 graduate of Scott City High School. She received a bachelor's degree in fashion design from Washington University in St. Louis in 1999, and a master's degree in costume design from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale in 2002. She is a costumer at Muto-Little Inc. in Los Angeles, Calif.

Cook is a 1996 graduate of Central High School, and received a bachelor's degree in automotive technology from SIU-Carbondale in 2002. He is an automotive technician at Pacific BMW in Glendale, Calif.

A Sept. 5 wedding is planned at Deerfield Lodge.
