Two teenagers were injured in a one-car accident at the intersection of Tamms Road and Ullin Road in Pulaski County, Ill. The accident occurred Saturday at 8:10 p.m.

The driver of the car, a 16-year-old female from Thebes, Ill., was heading northbound on Tamms Road when she failed to stop at the stop sign and skidded across Ullin Road and into an open field, according to the Illinois State Police.

She and the passenger, a 15-year-old male from Tamms, Ill., were taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau with unknown injuries, according to police.

The driver was issued a citation for disobeying a stop sign. Names of the driver and passenger were not released.
