Investigators study altitude in jet crash

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Federal investigators said Saturday they were studying whether altitude contributed to a loss of engine power that sent a 50-seat jet crashing into a residential area of Jefferson City Thursday night. Preliminary data from the flight data recorder showed the jet was flying at its maximum altitude of 41,000 a few minutes before both engines lost power.
