SIKESTON, Mo. -- A Poplar Bluff man has been arrested for allegedly robbing one pharmacy and attempting to rob another in Sikeston Friday.

Clint Browning, 24, was arrested for robbing the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy and attempting to rob the Medicap Pharmacy. He was charged with second-degree pharmacy robbery.

Police recovered Browning's car and said they found 385 of 523 Oxycontin tablets taken. Oxycontin is a prescription narcotic.

Detectives in the Sikeston Department of Public Safety received several phone calls about Browning after his photograph was shown on TV news broadcasts. Poplar Bluff police arrested him at a residence in Butler County on an Alabama warrant for a probation violation.

Browning is lodged in the Sikeston jail on $150,000 bond.
