Cape Girardeau

The Cape Girardeau Police Department released the following items Saturday. Arrests do not imply guilt.

Arrests

* Steven James, no age given, Rural Route 1 Box 328, McClure, Ill., was arrested on suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident.

* Taren Carpenter, no age given, 1230 W. Cape Rock Drive, Apt. 16, was arrested on a New Madrid County warrant for probation violation.

Thefts

* A purse was reported stolen at 430 S. Sheridan Drive, Apt. 8E.

* A car stereo was reported stolen at 1237 N. Water St.

Firefighters responded to the following call Friday:

* At 8:51 p.m., car fire at 2606 Ranchito Drive.

Firefighters responded to the following calls Saturday:

* At 3:14 p.m., an alarm sounding at 611 S. West End Blvd.

* At 3:19 p.m., a brush fire at 1841 Vincent Ave.
