The Cape Girardeau Police Department released the following items. Arrests do not imply guilt.

Arrests

* James S. Stowers, 45, 436 S. Spring St., Apt. D, was arrested on suspicion of tampering with a vehicle and no operator's license.

* Robert L. Steele, 22, of Sikeston, Mo., was arrested on a Cape Girardeau warrant for failure to appear.

* Lloyd Hunt Jr., 47, 234 N. Lorimier St., Apt. 7, was arrested on suspicion of assault and a Scott City warrant for failure to appear for speeding and driving while suspended.

* A subject is in custody pending charges for possession of a controlled substance.

Assault

* A domestic assault was reported. A subject is in custody pending charges in connection with the incident.

Thefts

* Rhodes 101, 1126 N. Sprigg St., reported a theft of fuel.

* A wallet was reported stolen at 1517 Wayne St.

Burglary

* A burglary was reported at 130 S. Lorimier St.

Property damage

* Paint on a building was reported at 530 Boxwood Drive.

* A 22-year-old man was placed in protective custody.

* Unlawful use of a weapon was reported.

The Jackson Police Department released the following items.

* A court order violation was reported in the 1400 block of East Main Street.

* A domestic dispute was reported in the 600 block of East Jefferson Street.

* A domestic dispute was reported in the 2000 block of Derwin Circle.

* Fraud was reported in the 300 block of East Jackson Boulevard.

* Fraud was reported in the 300 block of South Ohio Street.

* Telephone harassment was reported at mile marker 102 on Interstate 55.
