Cape Girardeau

The following items were released by the Cape Girardeau Police Department. Arrests do not imply guilt.

DWI

  • Michael E. Cox, 24, of 813 S. Sprigg St., was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and driving without a license following a motor vehicle accident. Cape Girardeau police reported that at 4:28 a.m. Cox struck a gas pump and building at Jaspers', 1008 N. Kingshighway, and struck Cape & Mid America Title, 1000 N. Kingshighway.

Arrests

  • A subject is in custody pending filing of formal charges for suspicion of driving with a suspended operator's license, speeding, improper registration and no insurance.
  • Britney C. Porter, 24, of 912 Perry Ave. was arrested on a Cape Girardeau warrant for failure to appear for improper registration.
  • James A. Davis, 50, of Charleston, Mo., was arrested on a New Madrid County warrant for narcotics possession. He was arrested later by the Mississippi County Sheriff's Department on a Cape Girardeau warrant for contempt of court for stealing.
  • Jeremy W. Burgess, 25, of Perryville, Mo., was arrested on a Cape Girardeau warrant for contempt of court for failure to pay fine and for failure to appear for probation revocation on driving with a suspended license.
  • Jerry L. Curry, 42, of 123 N. Clark St., Apt. 2, was arrested on a Cape Girardeau warrant for contempt of court for failure to pay fine for stealing.
  • A subject was in custody pending filing of formal charges for suspicion of false declaration and resisting arrest.
  • David A. Smith, 29, of 808 S. Benton St., was arrested on a Cape Girardeau warrant for probation violation for possession of a controlled substance.
  • Zatrun R. Twiggs, 20, of 1811 Huston Drive, was arrested on Cape Girardeau warrants for failure to appear for speeding, failure to appear for driving while suspended and failure to appear for a seat-belt violation.
  • John E. Jackson, 17, of 536 S. Frederick St., was arrested on suspicion of false declaration, resisting arrest and stealing.

Summons

  • Lezlie H. Burchard, 29, of 304 Mill St., received a summons for a leash-law violation.

Thefts

  • Nearly Perfect Shoes, 209 S. Kingshighway, reported theft of a pair of shoes.
  • Rhodes 101, 1624 N. Kinghighway, reported gasoline stolen.
  • Rhodes 101, 1126 N. Sprigg St., reported gasoline stolen.
  • A bicycle was reported stolen at 1265 Kingsway Drive.
  • Rhodes 101, 546 S. Sprigg St., reported gasoline stolen.
  • A theft was reported at West Park Mall. A subject was in custody pending filing of formal charges in connection with the complaint.
  • Jasper's, 1008 N. Kingshighway, reported gasoline stolen.
  • A satellite radio, a purse and a wallet was reported stolen at 205 Caruthers Ave.
  • A 1987 Chevrolet Camaro was reported stolen at 2154 William St.
  • A gun box, grill, pressure cooker and steam cleaner were reported stolen at 2801 Bloomfield Road, No. 75.
  • Candace K. Walsh, 34, of 426 Bellevue St., No. 1, was arrested on a Scott County warrant for bad checks.

Assault

  • An assault was reported at 1320 West Cape Rock Drive. Timothy J. Compas, 45, of 1551 Bunker Hill Drive received a summons in connection with the complaint.

Property damage

  • A vehicle window was reported damaged and a cell phone and wallet reported stolen at 205 Caruthers Ave.
  • Two vehicles were reported with damaged windows and a purse stolen from each vehicle at 1701 Lacey St.
  • An apartment door and window were reported damaged at 904 N. Fountain St.
  • A vehicle was damaged and a blue-jean bag was reported stolen at 3255 Independence St.

Miscellaneous

  • A peace disturbance was reported.
  • A blue bicycle was found at 1431 Merriwether St.
  • Endangering the welfare of a child was reported.

Cape Girardeau County

The following items were released by the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Department. Arrests do not imply guilt.

DWI

  • Corey L. Snider, 20, of Bloomfield, Mo., was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Arrests

  • Rebecca J. Barber, 28, of Cape Girardeau, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation for driving while intoxicated.
  • Levi S. Elledge, 28, of Jackson, was arrested on a warrant from the State of Missouri for parole violation for being a parole absconder.
  • Debra A. Minor, 43, of Olmsted, Ill., was arrested on a Cape Girardeau County warrant for forgery.
  • Katie L. Boyer, 24, of Oak Ridge, was arrested on a Cape Girardeau County warrant for probation violation for fraudulently attempting to obtain a controlled substance.
  • William T. Wiggins, 28, of Fredericktown, Mo., was arrested on a Cape Girardeau County warrant for failure to appear for driving while intoxicated and driving while revoked.
  • Nathan T. Oxley, 23, of Jackson, was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana, driving while revoked and illegally operating an all-terrain vehicle.

Southeast Missouri State University

The following items were released by the Southeast Missouri State University Department of Public Safety. Arrests do not imply guilt.

Theft

  • A wallet was reported stolen at Towers South.

Miscellaneous

  • Receiving stolen property was reported at Watkins Drive and North Pacific Street, where traffic cones were recovered.
