Cape Girardeau

The Cape Girardeau Police Department released the following items. Arrests do not imply guilt.

DWI

• A male subject was in custody pending formal charges for driving while intoxicated, failure to yield right of way and driving while suspended.

Arrests

• Bryan K. Reid, 26, 1806 William St. was arrested on a Cape Girardeau warrant for parole violation.
• Tiara June Benton, 20, 1806 William St., was arrested on suspicion of stealing sunglasses from Macy's, 3049 William St.
• A male subject was in custody pending formal charges for stealing from Macy's.
• A 14-year-old boy was cited into juvenile court on suspicion of stealing trading cards from Hastings, 2136 William St.
• A subject was in custody pending formal charges for domestic assault.
• John Matthew Tayon, 28, homeless, was arrested on a City of Cape Girardeau warrant for failure to appear on charges of trespassing.
• A subject was in custody pending formal charges for domestic assault, assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.

Summons

• Brandon E. Geiger, 18, 1126 S. Ellis St., received a summons for being a minor in possession of alcohol.
• Santanna Nichole Eicken, 27, of Anna, Ill., received a summons for careless and imprudent driving.
• David Shawn Babers, 21, 1519 William St., was issued a summons for phone harassment.

Thefts

• Rhodes 101, 449 S. Kings­highway, reported a theft of gas.
• Rhodes 101, 1126 N. Sprigg St., reported a theft of gas.
• Bi-State Southern, 612 S. Sprigg St., reported a theft of gas.
• A purse, credit cards, a check book and medications were reported stolen in Arena Park.
• Bi-State Southern, 612 S. Sprigg St., reported a theft of gas.

Assault

• An assault was reported at 1325 Broadway.

Miscellaneous

• Parkview State School, 1020 S. Parkway St., reported a broken window.
• A 67-year-old man was taken into protective custody.
• A failure to return to confinement was reported.
