DWI James O'Connell was charged with driving while intoxicated Friday at West End and Merriwether.

Arrests Ophelia Smith was arrested on a warrant Friday at 814 S. Ellis.

Jennifer Bess was arrested on a warrant Friday at 114 S. West End Blvd.

A person was in custody Friday for possession of ephedrine with intent to distribute.

A person was in custody early Saturday pending charges of resisting arrest and assault on a law enforcement officer at 341 S. Sprigg.

A person was in custody on Saturday pending a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

A 51-year-old man was taken into protective custody on Saturday.

Dan Toni Porter, 23, of 406 S. Spring Apt. H, was arrested Saturday by Malden police on a Cape Girardeau city warrant for contempt of court.

Summonses Justin Denton, 910 Themis, was issued a summons on Friday for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia at Broadway and Fountain.

James Carr, 1000 N. Middle, was issued a summons Friday for a leash law violation.

Assaults A child molestation was reported on Friday.

A domestic assault was reported Friday.

Thefts

A license plate was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at 626 Broadway.

Wal-Mart reported a theft Friday at 3439 William.

A CD player and speakers were reported stolen Friday at 1224 Whitener.

Amoco D-Mart reported gasoline was stolen Friday at 3276 William.
