PERRY COUNTY, Mo. -- A motorist from North Carolina sustained minor injuries at 6:55 p.m. Monday when her vehicle struck a deer on Interstate 55 in Perry County a half mile north of County Road 830. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Julianne Helper, 40, of Charlotte, N.C., struck the deer, went off the right side of the road, hit a sign, went down an embankment, struck several small trees and then hit a second embankment...

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Julianne Helper, 40, of Charlotte, N.C., struck the deer, went off the right side of the road, hit a sign, went down an embankment, struck several small trees and then hit a second embankment.

Helper was taken to Ste. Genevieve County Hospital.
