The Jackson Police Department released the following items. Arrests do not imply guilt.

Arrests

  • Matthew W. Carmack, 24, 122 S. Bellevue St., Apt. 27, was arrested on a Jackson warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of assault.
  • Melanie E. Powers, 51, 848 Gerald St., was arrested on a Jackson warrant for failure to appear on original charges of possession of marijuana, failure to maintain insurance and speeding.
  • A 16-year-old boy was cited into juvenile court for third-degree assault and a peace disturbance.

  • Sierra R. Windeknecht, 17, of Jackson was issued a summons for an intermediate license violation.
  • David S. Cornelius, 29, of Jackson was issued a summons for failure to register a motor vehicle.
  • Treven G. Biri, 21, of Cape Girardeau was issued a summons for a stop-sign violation.
  • Byron D. Gardner, 26, of Cape Girardeau was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle while operator's license revoked.

Theft

  • Theft was reported in the 400 block of Knox Street.

Miscellaneous

  • Assists were requested in the 200 block of Hillside Drive; the 100 block of West Jackson Boulevard; the 100 block of South Farmington Road; and the 900 block of West Independence Street.
  • Check the welfare was requested in the 1100 block of West Jackson Boulevard.
  • Keep the peace was requested in the 600 block of West Washington Street and three times in the 1100 block of West Jackson Boulevard.
  • Fraud was reported in the 100 block of Court Street.
  • Peace disturbances were reported in the area of Old Cape Road and South Georgia Street; the area of Hubble Ford; and the 100 block of Court Street.
  • A domestic disturbance was reported in the 600 block of West Washington Street.
  • A fight in progress was reported in the 300 block of South Missouri Street.
