* At 6:06 p.m., smoke in the basement in the 1500 block of Grandview Drive.

* At 6:15 p.m., assist the Cape Girardeau Police Department in the 300 block of North Kingshighway.

* At 10:40 p.m., emergency medical service in the 300 block of North Sprigg Street.

Firefighters responded to the following calls Thursday:

* At 4:59 a.m., citizen assist in the 1500 block of Briarcliff Drive.

* At 8:06 a.m., emergency medical service in the 2500 block of Peach Tree Street.

* At 9:58 a.m., emergency medical service in the 3200 block of William Street.

* At 2:58 p.m., still alarm in the area of Hopper Road and Country Lane.

* At 5 p.m., emergency medical service in the 600 block of Napa Circle.

* At 8:25 p.m., emergency medical service in the 700 block of Albert Street.

* At 9:26 p.m., still alarm at 349 N. Park Ave.

* At 11:48 p.m., emergency medical service in the 3100 block of Laurel Lane.

* At 10:58 a.m., emergency medical service in the 300 block of William Street.

* At 11:47 a.m., emergency medical service mile marker 99 of Interstate 55.

* At 2:08 p.m., a motor vehicle accident at mile marker 99 of Interstate 55.

* At 2:09 p.m., a motor vehicle accident in the 1100 block of Perry Avenue.

* At 3:30 p.m., a call to mile marker 99 of Interstate 55 that was canceled en route.
