Betty Thompson, 81, was eastbound in a 1994 Lincoln eight miles west of Jackson when she was struck by a westbound 1989 Dodge truck while attempting to make a left turn onto Highway 34.

The driver of the truck and his passenger, Thomas Burford, 34, and Brenda Burford, 41, both of Whitewater, also received minor injuries in the accident but refused treatment.

Thompson was taken to St. Francis Medical Center.
