The following items were released by the Cape Girardeau Police Department. Arrests do not imply guilt.

DWI

  • Dane J. Balsmann, 20, of Jackson was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, failing to drive in a single lane and driving without a license.

Arrests

  • Billy R. Fowler, 33, of Scott City was arrested on four Cape Girardeau warrants for contempt of court for failure to pay fine and costs for no operator's license, no proof of insurance, failure to appear for improper registration, no operator's license, no proof of insurance, false declaration and delivery or concealment of contraband.
  • Gabriel W. Mier, 20, of 1857 New Madrid St., was arrested on suspicion of stealing auto parts and tools.
  • Brian L. Johnson, 27, of 1934 Delwin St., No. 6, was arrested on a Cape Girardeau warrant for probation violation for a suspended operators license.
  • Patricia A. Cox, 42, of 1126 N. Spanish St. was arrested on a Cape Girardeau warrant for contempt of court for failing to pay fine and costs for stealing.
  • John L. Tate, 26, of 2841 Themis St., was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana.
  • A 15-year-old girl was cited into juvenile court on suspicion of tampering with a motor vehicle.
  • Korey William King, 29, of 1054 N. Clark Ave., was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway, striking a fire hydrant and leaving the scene.
  • Marcus Rice, 20, of 1930 Delwin St., Apt. 6, was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana.
  • Alfonzo Ellis, 23, of 1206 Big Bend Road, was arrested on a Cape Girardeau County warrant for domestic assault.
  • Timothy Owens, 32, of 123 North Clark Ave., Apt. 6, was arrested on a Scott County warrant.
  • Robert Lee McClinton, 25, of 537 N. Sprigg St., Apt. A, was arrested on a Cape Girardeau warrant for driving with improper registration and driving while revoked.
  • Marcus Harris, 23, of Tulsa, Okla., was arrested on a Cape Girardeau warrant for assault.
  • An arrest was made on Kingshighway.

Summonses

  • Jauvaris C. Walker, 17, of 2443 Whitener St., Apt. 14A, received a summons for a fireworks violation in the 1000 block of S. Ellis St.
  • Kendra L. Causey, 20, of Advance, Mo., received a summons for possession of marijuana.
  • Edward L. Morris, 49, of 621 Sycamore Circle received a summons for littering at Independence Street and East Rodney Drive.
  • Corian J. Breer of 329 N. Middle St., was issued a summons for littering.

Assaults

  • A domestic assault was reported.
  • An assault on a law enforcement officer was reported. The suspect was in custody pending formal charges in connection with the complaint and on suspicion of possession of marijuana.
  • An assault with fireworks was reported.
  • An assault was reported at 1325 Dunklin St.
  • An assault was reported.
  • An assault was reported at 316 S. Lorimier St.
  • An assault was reported at 1205 S. Ellis St.

Thefts

  • Stereo equipment, an iPod, a radar detector and a skateboard were reported stolen at 1725 David St.
  • A wallet was reported stolen at 87 Plaza Way.
  • Rhodes 101, 1126 N. Sprigg St. reported two incidents of gasoline theft of gasoline.
  • A bicycle was reported stolen at 520 Terry Lane.

Property damage

  • Prost Building Inc., 221 N. Fountain St., reported a broken window.
  • A broken car window was reported at 241 N. Fountain St.
  • A broken windshield was reported at 3049 William St.
  • A car windshield was reported broken at 406 S. Sprigg St.
  • Property was reported damaged at 319 Park Drive.
  • A window was reported broken at 3815 Stonebridge Drive.

Miscellaneous

  • A fireworks violation was reported.
  • Three incidents of tampering with a motor vehicle were reported at 510 N. West End Blvd.
  • Two incidents of tampering with a motor vehicle were reported at 904 Themis St.
  • A 56-year-old man was taken into protective custody.
  • Counterfeit checks were reported at Money Time Check Cashers & Pawn at 1901 Independence St. A gold ring and diamonds were also reported stolen.
  • Fraudulent use of a credit device was reported at Cape Auto & Truck Sales at 1238 Meadowbrook Lane.
  • Failure to return a rental vehicle was reported at A & A Auto Truck & Van Rental at 1238 Meadowbrook Lane.
  • A fireworks violation was reported at Henderson Avenue and Cousin Street.
  • A fireworks violation was reported at 1221 Jefferson Ave.
  • A purse was reported found in the 300 block of Broadway.
  • A wallet was reported found at 10 S. West End Blvd.
  • A fireworks violation was reported at Ellis and Linden streets.
