Cape Girardeau

The following items were released by the Cape Girardeau Police Department. Arrests do not imply guilt.

DWI

  • Jorge M. Contreras, 39, of 56 N. Park Ave., No. 2, was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, no operator's license and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway.

Arrests

  • A subject was in custody pending filing of formal charges on suspicion of endangering the welfare of a child.
  • Marcus L. Woods, 22, of 2826 Whitener St., No. 2, was arrested on a Cape Girardeau warrant for contempt of court.
  • A subject was in custody pending filing of formal charges on suspicion of receiving stolen property, posession of a controlled substance and driving without a license.
  • Ricky L. Werner, 50, of 1722 Crestwood Drive, was arrested on a warrant for passing bad checks.

Summons

  • Ricky L. Werner of the Main Street Bar, 701 N. Main St., received a summons for selling alcoholic beverages after hours.

Assault

  • A domestic assault was reported.

Theft

  • Rhodes 101, 2109 William St., reported a theft of gasoline.

Burglary

  • The city of Cape Girardeau reported a window, cash register and file drawers were damaged in a break-in at Capaha Pool.
  • A bag of change was reported stolen in a burglary at 3704 Stonebridge Drive.

Property damage

  • Property damage was reported at 643 Highland Drive. Vester G. Osborne, 39, of 141 Cardinal Lane was arrested in connection with the complaint.
  • A window was reported damaged at 1817 Longview Drive.

Miscellaneous

  • A 23-year-old man was placed in protective custody.
  • Cape La Croix Apartments, 430 S. Spring Ave., reported trespassing.
  • A 46-year-old woman was placed in protective custody.
  • Unlawful use of a weapon was reported at 1126 N. Sprigg St.

Jackson

The following items were released by the Jackson Police Department. Arrests do not imply guilt.

Arrests

  • John R. Mitchell, 25, of 900 N. Sprigg St., Cape Girardeau, was arrested on suspicion of making a false statement and hindering prosecution; on a Cape Girardeau warrant for contempt of court on charges of driving while suspended and assault; and on a state probation and parole warrant for being a parole absconder on charges of perjury and stealing.

Summonses

  • Ricky L. Nanney, 19, of 200 Lindsey Lane, received a summons for minor in possession of alcohol by consumption.
  • Rodney P. Nelson, 37, of 2534 Ridgeway Drive, received a summons for possession of a controlled substance and speeding.

Thefts

  • Jaspers, 3618 E. Jackson Blvd., reported a theft of gasoline.

Miscellaneous

  • A fight was reported in the 100 block of West Main St.
  • A peace disturbance was reported in the 300 block of East Jackson Boulevard.
  • A peace disturbance was reported in the 800 block of Kent Street.
