CAPE GIRARDEAU

The Cape Girardeau Police Department released the following items. Arrests do not imply guilt.

Arrests

• Shawnique D. Merriweather, 23, of Tamms, Illinois, was arrested at Cape LaCroix Apartments on a Cape Girardeau warrant for failure to appear for a traffic violation.
• A suspect was in custody pending formal charges of resisting arrest at 1020 Bloomfield Road.
• A suspect was in custody pending formal charges of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, failure to register a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle while license revoked, no insurance and violation of ignition interlock restrictions at North Kingshighway and Kingsway Drive.
• A suspect was in custody pending formal charges of being a DWI persistent offender and drinking an alcoholic beverage while operating a moving vehicle at North Kingshighway and Interstate 55.
• Joseph Daniel Canoy, 32, of Sturdivant, Missouri, was arrested on suspicion of stealing at Wal-Mart, 3439 William St.

Summonses

• Martina R. Kemerly, no age given, of Chaffee, Missouri, was issued a summons for striking a legally stopped vehicle at Interstate 55 and U.S. 61.

• Assault was reported.
• Domestic assault was reported.

Burglary

• Burglary and theft of animals was reported at 1800 William St.

Theft

• Theft was reported at Winks, 2017 Perryville Road.
• Theft was reported at 2569 Cobblestone Court.

• An unsecured load was reported on northbound Interstate 55.
