The Cape Girardeau Police Department released the following items. Arrests do not imply guilt.

Arrests

* A suspect was in custody pending formal charges for unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance.

* A suspect was in custody pending formal charges for receiving stolen property.

* Carlos L. Hemphill, 30, 410 Themis St., Apt. E, was arrested on suspicion of failure to yield and driving while revoked.

* Shalayla Q.N. Lowe, 19, 508 Cape Meadows Circle, Apt. 29, was arrested on a Cape Girardeau warrant for failure to appear for contempt of court for failure to pay fine.

* A suspect was in custody pending formal charges for possession of imitation controlled substance.

Summonses

* Michael R. Ward, no age given, 611 Locust St., was issued a summons for striking a parked vehicle.

* Lenis M. Cruz, no age given, 2802 Independence St., was issued a summons for no operator's license.

* Bryan S. Welker, 34, 3229 Chateau Drive, was issued a summons for stealing from Wal-Mart, 3439 William St.

* Zatrun R. Twiggs, no age given, 133 S. Benton St., was issued a summons for failure to yield.

Assaults

* Assault was reported.

* Burglary, damage to a window and door and theft of money were reported at 209 S. West End Blvd.

Thefts

* A sword was reported stolen from Annie Laurie Antiques, 536 Broadway.

* Theft was reported at Wal-Mart, 3439 William St.

* A Kindle Fire was reported stolen at 2011 N. Kingshighway.

Property damage

* Property damage and unlawful use of a weapon was reported.

Miscellaneous

* A 47-year-old woman was taken into protective custody.

* A $5 bill was reported as counterfeit at Rhodes 101, 2109 William St.

* A 29-year-old man was taken into protective custody.

* Unlawful use of a weapon was reported.

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY

The Cape Girardeau Sheriff's Department released the following items. Arrests do not imply guilt.

Arrests

* Jimmy C. White Jr., 24, of Cape Girardeau was arrested on a Cape Girardeau County warrant for failure to maintain financial responsibility, failure to wear a seat belt, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

* Kimberly D. West, 46, of Cape Girardeau was arrested on a Cape Girardeau County warrant for failure to appear for two counts of distribution, manufacture and production of a controlled substance.
