The Cape Girardeau Fire Department responded to the following calls Wednesday:

• Medical assists were made at 7:04 a.m. on North Main Street; 9:25 a.m. on South Pacific Street; 12:18 p.m. on Independence Street; 1:40 p.m. on North Mount Auburn Road; 2:04 p.m. on South Benton Street; 2:15 p.m. on Minuteman Way; 2:31 p.m. on North Middle Street; 2:34 p.m. on North Silver Springs Road; 3:25 p.m. at Doctors Park; 7:09 p.m. on Whitener Street; 7:20 p.m. on Meadow Lane; 7:24 p.m. on North Kingshighway; 7:26 p.m. on North Middle Street; 8:49 p.m. on Themis Street; and 10:44 p.m. on Franks Lane.
• At 1:40 a.m., heat from a short circuit on North Spanish Street.
• At 9:16 a.m., a false alarm or false call on North Water Street.
• At 11:20 a.m., a false alarm or false call on William Street.
