One man was killed and two people were injured in two accidents Saturday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the fatal accident occurred at 12:40 p.m. in Miner, Mo. Monty George, 41, of Bertrand, Mo., received injuries after his vehicle crossed the center line and struck another vehicle head on. He was airlifted to Saint Francis Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 1:49 p.m. Driver Kevin Hughes, 37, of Benton, Mo., received serious injuries and was taken to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
The second accident occurred seven miles north of Marble Hill, Mo. Passenger Anita Dare, 49, of Glenallen, Mo., received moderate injuries and was taken to Saint Francis Medical Center. Driver William Allen, 44, of Glenallen was not injured. According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Allen's vehicle ran off the road and struck a tree.
