BERTRAND -- Funeral service for Clayborn James McKinley of Bertrand will be held at 1 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Jerry Reynolds will officiate, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
McKinley, 81, died Monday, Feb. 17, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born May 30, 1915, in Baxter, Tenn., son of Homer and Daisy Jarred McKinley. He and Alberta Bush were married March 3, 1938.
McKinley was co-owner and operator of McKinley Brothers Garage six years at Bertrand, was a mechanic at Malden Air Force Base 13 years, and then worked at Ford Tractor Co. in Sikeston, retiring in 1981. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, James McKinley of Lawrence, Kan.; a daughter, Carolyn Lane of Starkville, Miss.; two brothers, Homer McKinley of Scott City, Horace McKinley of Bertrand; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
