SIKESTON -- Wallace Watson Jr., 54, of Sikeston died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
He was born July 14, 1945, at Dexter, son of Wallace and Annie Laster Watson. He and Elizabeth Jones were married April 18, 1967, in Junction City, Kan.
Watson was a graduate of Sikeston High School and a career soldier in the Army. He was honorably discharged on Sept. 21, 1981.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Wallace Watson III and Marvin Watson of Akron, Ohio, and Alfonzo Watson of Columbus, Ohio; two daughters, Latoyia Hyler of Columbia and Yolanda O. Watson of Akron; two brothers, Therman Watson of Cape Girardeau, and Henry Watson of Benton Harbor, Mich.; two sisters, Catherine McClendon of Dallas, Texas, and Linda Watson of Sikeston; and 12 grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Williams-Farr Funeral Home in Sikeston from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lighthouse Ministries Church in Sikeston. Billy Williamson will officiate, with burial at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at National Cemetery in Mound City, Ill.
