JONESBORO, Ill. -- Louie C. Kelley, 95, of Jonesboro died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001, at the Union County Nursing Home in Anna, Ill.
He was born Sept. 30, 1905, in Jonesboro, son of Edward J. and Augusta B. Winn Kelley. He and Armita Brown were married July 31, 1927, in Marion, Ill. They were married 73 years.
Kelley worked at the Union County Courthouse for many years, during which time he served 16 years as circuit clerk and four years as county treasurer.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro.
Survivors include his wife of Jonesboro; three sons, Clinton L. Kelley of Marion, and Richard G. Kelley and Gary A. Kelley, both of Englewood, Fla.; a sister, Mary Robinson of Flint, Mich.; a brother, Edward Kelley of Valparaiso, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, five brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hileman and Parr Funeral Services in Jonesboro.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. John Cripps will officiate, with burial in the Jonesboro Cemetery.
