JACKSON, Mo. -- Lauren E. Young and Joseph J. Thomas were married Oct. 12, 2001, at Cape Bible Chapel in Cape Girardeau. Hal Greene performed the double ring ceremony.
Pianists were Karen Miller of Cape Girardeau and Jonathan Young of Jackson. Flutists were Judy Sharp and Jill Roddy of Cape Girardeau, and Marlene Rothenberger of Jackson. Vocalists were Wendy Taliaferro of Cape Girardeau and Brad Berry of Jackson.
Larry and Diane Young of Jackson are parents of the bride. The groom is the son of Cindy Fisk of Jackson.
Matron of honor was Margaret Stanzell of Jonesboro, Ark., aunt of the bride. Bridesmaids were Lindsey Osborne of Jackson, Christy Anderson of Cape Girardeau, and Melissa Ackman of Jackson, aunt of the groom.
Ned Ackman of Jackson, uncle of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Rusty Fisk, brother of the groom, Andy Young, brother of the bride, both of Jackson, and Richard Couch of Cape Girardeau. Ushers were Jason Reddy, Aaron Roth, Jim Stanzell and Stephen McKinney.
Candlelighters were Cindy and Beth McKinney of O'Fallon, Mo., aunt and cousin of the bride.
Flower girl was Carli Ackman, daughter of Ned and Melissa Ackman and cousin of the groom. Ringbearer was J.P. Stanzell, son of Jim and Margaret Stanzell and cousin of the bride.
Johanna Gordon and Rebecca Coleman attended the guest book.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the church.
The groom's family hosted the rehearsal dinner Oct. 11 at the church.
Mrs. Thomas is a graduate of Jackson High School, and is majoring in medical technology at Southeast Missouri State University.
The groom is a graduate of Jackson High School, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He is employed by Cape Girardeau Police Department.
The couple resides in Cape Girardeau.
