CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Melissa Williams and Christopher R. Blattel were married Sept. 29, 2001, at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, Mo. The Rev. John Harth performed the ceremony. Organist was Mary Jansen. Vocalists were Melissa Thele, Barbara Macke, Jennifer Brotherton and Jill VandeVen.
The bride is the daughter of Rickey A. and Pamela S. Williams of Rochester, Ill. The groom is the son of Robert H. and Carla Blattel of Chaffee, and Angela S. Carden of Springfield, Ill.
Sarah Thomas of Springfield, Ill., was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Karla Ashton and Heather Fox, cousin of the bride, both of Springfield, Ill.
Best man was Jarod Pobst of Springfield, Ill., brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Corey Siebert of Oran and Jason Montgomery of Cape Girardeau. Ushers were Brandon Bond of Chaffee; Jason Williams of Rochester, brother of the bride; and Eric Kennedy of Cape Girardeau.
Candlelighters were Sara Blattel and Jessica Kidd. Sara is the daughter of Robert and Carla Blattel and sister of the groom. Jessica is the daughter of Kenneth and Jane Kidd of Chaffee.
Flower girl was Peyton Williams, daughter of Heather Fox. Ringbearer was Seth Blattel, son of Robert and Carla Blattel and brother of the groom.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Oran.
The rehearsal dinner was held Sept. 28 at the home of Robert Blattel.
The bride is a 1996 graduate of Rochester High School, and attended Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, Ill. She is a nurse technician.
The groom is a 1993 graduate of Delta High School in Delta, Mo. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois in Springfield, and is pursuing a master's degree at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.
The couple is residing in Murphysboro, Ill.
