Cape Bible Chapel in Cape Girardeau was the setting July 27, 2002, for the wedding of Gretchen Marie Whaley and Devin Lindsey. Hal Greene performed the ceremony. Pianist was Gayla Tripp of Jackson.
Parents of the bride are Paul and Dorothy Brown and Larry and Anna Whaley, all of Jackson. The groom is the son of Darrell and Peggy Lindsey of Mountain Grove, Mo.
Maid of honor was Leslie Whaley of Jackson, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Sally Houck and Angela Selzer of Jackson.
Duane Lindsey of Ozark, Mo., served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Randall Wakefield of Mountain Grove, brother-in-law of the groom, and Matt Parker of Salem, Mo. Ushers were J.R. Watkins of Jackson and Daniel Raines of Scott City, cousin of the bride.
Candlelighters were Tracy Schreiner of Jackson and Jennifer Vandeven of Chaffee, Mo., cousin of the bride.
Flower girl was Katelyn Lindsey, daughter of Duane and Michelle Lindsey and niece of the groom. Ringbearers were Raleigh Wakefield and Hunter Jones. Raleigh is the son of Randall and Kristy Wakefield and nephew of the groom. Hunter is the son of Tracy Schreiner and godson of the bride.
Dana Whaley, cousin of the bride, attended the guest book.
Following the ceremony, the dinner and dance reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jackson. Servers were Rita Whaley of Jackson and Marilyn Mott of Chaffee, aunts of the bride.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner July 26 at Ryan's Family Steak House.
Mrs. Lindsey is a graduate of Jackson High School and Southeast Missouri State University. She is a registered nurse in obstetrics at Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Mo.
The groom is a graduate of Mountain Grove High School and College of the Ozarks. He is a physical education teacher and coach at Dent-Phelps R-3 School District in Salem.
After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple resides in Salem.
