CHAFFEE, Mo. -- First Baptist Church in Chaffee was the setting July 6, 2002, for the wedding of Jamie Lyn Wessel and Shawn Dale Nix. The Rev. Wayne Dismuke of Dexter, Mo., performed the ceremony. Pianist was Rebecca Hanlon of Chaffee. Soloists were Toni Clark of Mountain Grove, Mo., and Doug Driesel of Houston, Mo.
The bride is the daughter of Michael and Linda Wessel of Chaffee. The groom is the son of Tommy and Debbie Nix of Milburn, Okla.
Maid of honor was Amy Dismuke of St. Louis. Matrons of honor were Lacy Nix of Milburn, sister-in-law of the groom, and Jessie Vollink of Cape Girardeau. Junior bridesmaid was Emma Wessel of Gordonville, cousin of the bride.
Keeland Nix of Milburn was his brother's best man. Groomsmen were Ronnie Nix of Stillwater, Okla., brother of the groom, and Steven Wessel of Effingham, Ill., brother of the bride. Junior groomsman was Brent Wessel of Gordonville, cousin of the bride. Ushers were Amy Driesel of Houston, and Brad Wessel of Cape Girardeau, cousin of the bride.
Flower girl was Whitney Coats of Mountain Grove.
Jill Wessel of Effingham, sister-in-law of the bride, attended the guest book. Jyl Prentice of Chickasha, Okla., cousin of the groom, attended the guest book.
Following the ceremony, the dinner-dance reception was held at the American Legion Hall.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner July 5 in the church dining hall.
Mrs. Nix is a 1996 graduate of Chaffee High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in physical therapy from Maryville University in St. Louis in 2000. She is employed at Red River Rehab Inc. in Madill, Okla.
The groom is a 1992 graduate of Mountain Grove High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University at Weatherford in 1996, and a master of science in educational administration from Southwest Baptist University at Bolivar, Mo., in 2002. He is employed by Ardmore City Schools.
After a wedding trip to Disney World in Orlando, Fla., the couple resides in Madill.
