WEDDINGS: VERHINES-FISHER

JACKSON -- Heather Michelle Verhines and Steven Robert Fisher were united in marriage Sept. 18, 1999, at New McKendree United Methodist Church. The Rev. David Griffin performed the double ring ceremony. Organist was Linda Thompson of Jackson. Vocalists were Jeremy Verhines of Dana Point, Calif., brother of the bride, and Kerri Seabaugh of St. Louis, cousin of the bride.

The bride is the daughter of Brad and Janet Verhines of Cape Girardeau, and Julian and Michelle Chavez of Jackson. Dave and Sue Fisher of Jackson are parents of the groom.

Kara Rosenquist of Jackson was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Carrie Perez of St. Charles; Misty Downs of Jackson; Amelia Verhines of Dana Point and Janna Verhines of Plano, Texas, sisters-in-law of the bride; and Amanda Byers of Farmington.

The groom chose his brother, Dave Fisher of Jackson, as best man. Groomsmen were Jeff LaFave, Amos Evans, Wade Guilliams and Scott Skrob, all of Jackson, and Spencer Verhines of Plano, brother of the bride. Footsmen were Cass Chavez, brother of the bride, and Anthony Barton, nephew of the groom. Anthony is the son of Dave and Jessica Fisher. Ushers were Tim Krause of Cheboygan, Mich., Blake Guilliams of Cape Girardeau, and Thomas Goforth of St. Louis.

Flower girl was Lailany Verhines, daughter of Jeremy and Amelia Verhines and niece of the bride. Ringbearers were Kyle Slinkard and Tyler Fisher, nephews of the groom. Kyle is the son of Brian Slinkard and Kathy Slinkard of Jackson. Tyler is the son of Dave and Jessica Fisher.

Candlelighters were Kathy Slinkard, sister of the groom, and Jessica Fisher, sister-in-law of the groom.

Jodi Stahly attended the guest book.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Elks Lodge in Cape Girardeau. Servers were Kathy Slinkard and Jessica Fisher.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Sept. 17 at Celebrations in Cape Girardeau.

Mrs. Fisher received an associate of arts degree in child development and guidance from Southeast Missouri State University. She expects to receive a bachelor of science degree from Southeast in May. She is employed at Just Kids Learning Development Center in Cape Girardeau.

The groom attended Southeast University. He is employed at The Associates in Cape Girardeau.

The couple resides in Jackson.
