LEOPOLD -- Amy Marie Vandeven and Derek Grant Jansen were married Nov. 27, 1999, at St. John's Catholic Church. The Revs. William Huggins and James Seyer performed the double ring ceremony. Lector was Jessica Jansen, cousin of the groom.
Organists were Kristy and Sara Jansen, cousins of the groom, and saxophonist was Michael Vandeven, brother of the bride. Vocalists were Dustin and Ashley Jansen, Stephanie and Kyla Horrell, Laura, Hanna and Holly Jansen, all cousins of the groom.
Mass servers were Lucas Horrell and Clayton Jansen, cousins of the groom, and Matthew Jansen, cousin and godson of the groom.
Offertory gifts were carried by Theresa Ladd, aunt and godmother of the bride; Gary Vandeven, uncle and godfather of the bride; and Dennis and Pam Horrell, godparents of the groom.
Ministers of the cup during Mass were Carolyn Morris, aunt of the bride, and Gerald Jansen, uncle of the groom.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. John Vandeven and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Jansen.
Kelly Vandeven was her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jeanie Rehkop; Samantha Morris, cousin of the bride; Patricia Deck; Tonya Lewis; Denise Jansen, cousin of the groom; and Alicia Lincoln, sister of the groom. Junior bridesmaid was Molly Horrell, cousin of the bride.
The groom chose his cousin, Rodney Horrell, as best man. Groomsmen were John Vandeven, brother of the bride; Keith Horrell, cousin of the groom; Andy Elfrink, Stuart Beussink, Chris Horrell and Brian Eeftink. Junior groomsman was Michael Vandeven, brother of the bride. Ushers were Andy Landewee, Derek Halter, Tim Horrell and Brian Tidwell.
Flower girl was Shelby Vandeven, cousin of the bride. Ringbearer was Tony Lincoln Jr., nephew of the groom.
Candlelighters were Jessica Vandeven, cousin of the bride, and Kelly Irvin, cousin of the groom.
Program attendants were Lacy Hinkebein and Jennifer Vandeven, cousins of the bride.
Following the ceremony, a dinner reception and dance was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Servers were Morgan and Amber Morris, Wendy and Jennifer Vandeven, Lacy Hinkebein, all cousins of the bride; Eva Baughn and Shelby Hamm, aunts of the groom.
Mrs. Jansen expects to receive a degree in special education from Southeast Missouri State University in May. She is student teaching at Zalma and Woodland elementary schools.
The groom is employed by Food Giant Corp. of Sikeston.
The couple resides in Leopold.
