WEDDINGS: VANDEVEN-BURNETT

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Renee Caroline Vandeven and Thomas Marion Burnett Jr. were married Aug. 12, 2000, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. The Revs. Ralph Duffner and James Seyer performed the double ring ceremony. Organist was Bethany Vandeven and vocalists were Danny Finley and Jessica Smith, all of Chaffee.

Parents of the couple are Alvin and Betty Vandeven and Thomas and Shelley Burnett, all of Chaffee.

Maid of honor was Jennifer Vandeven of Chaffee, sister of the bride. Matrons of honor were Micki Ballard, sister of the groom, and Kelly Burnett, both of Chaffee. Bridesmaids were Amy Burnett, sister of the groom, Jennifer Finley, both of Chaffee; Amanda Hinkebein and Melanie Ledford of Benton, Ky., and Lesley Whaley of Jackson, Mo., cousins of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Jessica Vandeven of Marble Hill, Mo., cousin of the bride.

The groom chose his father as best man. Groomsmen were Mark Ballard, brother-in-law of the groom; Ben Burnett, cousin of the groom; Thomas Stidham; Jeremy Vandeven, brother of the bride; Jeremy Yarbro; Jason Chapman; and Jonathan Welter, cousin of the groom, all of Chaffee. Junior groomsman was Michael Vandeven of Marble Hill, cousin of the bride. Ushers were Bill Burnett of Oak Ridge, Mo., cousin of the groom, and Jeremy Chapman of Chaffee.

Miniature bride was Whitney Vandeven of Marble Hill, cousin of the bride.

Candlelighters were Wendy Vandeven and Lacy Hinkebein, cousins of the bride; Sally Welter and Carrie Laurentius, cousins of the groom. Wendy is the daughter of Gary and Kim Vandeven of Marble Hill. Lacy is the daughter of Charlie and Elaine Hinkebein of Benton, Ky. Sally is the daughter of Frank and Linda Welter of Chaffee. Carrie is the daughter of Stan and Connie Laurentius of Cape Girardeau.

Flower girls were Emily and Shelby Vandeven, cousins of the bride. Emily is the daughter of Larry and Rhonda Vandeven of Marble Hill, and Shelby is the daughter of Gary and Kim Vandeven. Ringbearers were Kodi Ballard, nephew of the groom, and Gavin Vandeven, cousin of the bride. Kodi is the son of Mark and Micki Ballard, and Gavin is the son of Ed and Lori Vandeven of Marble Hill.

Guest book attendants were Amanda Mott, cousin of the bride, and Melinda Burnett, cousin of the groom. Greeters were Jennifer Laurentius, Kendra and Krystal Burnett, all cousins of the groom.

Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the VFW Hall in Chaffee.

The rehearsal dinner was also held at the VFW Hall.

Mrs. Burnett is a 1997 graduate of Chaffee High School, and is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in nursing at Southeast Missouri State University. She is employed at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

The groom is a 1996 graduate of Chaffee High School, and attended Dyersburg Community College. He is employed at Lone Star Industries in Cape Girardeau.

The couple resides in Chaffee.
