JACKSON, Mo. -- Julie L. Tarr and John P. Smith were married Dec. 11, 1999, at First Baptist Church. Patrick Tankersly performed the double ring ceremony. Organist was Jim Rhodes of Jackson and soloist was Erin Darter of Cape Girardeau.
Parents of the bride are Dub and Pam Stovall of Jackson, and the late Robert Tarr. The groom is the son of Connie Smith of Jackson and Van and Mary Kay Smith of Cape Girardeau.
Kristi Holmes of Jackson, cousin of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Christy Brugger, Andrea Siemer and Crystal Guilliams, all of Jackson; Lena Stovall of Cape Girardeau, sister-in-law of the bride; and Tracy Smith of Jackson.
Best men were Jeff and Jimmy Smith of Jackson, brothers of the groom. Groomsmen were Nick Panagos, Pat Collier and Chad Ludwig, all of Jackson, and Scott Stovall of Cape Girardeau, brother of the bride. Ushers were Pat Collier and Chad Ludwig.
Candlelighters were Heidi Hume and Wendy Eisenbeis of Jackson.
Flower girl was Mackenzie Quade, daughter of Johnny and Janice Quade of Jackson and cousin of the bride. Ringbearer was Austin Holmes, son of Tom and Kristi Holmes of Jackson and cousin of the bride.
Guest book attendants were Sally Walker, Kelly Starzinger, Sarah Thompson and Deann Lorberg.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Elks Lodge in Cape Girardeau. Servers were Lindsey Vangilder and Leah Lorberg.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Dec. 9 at Route 25 Hall.
Mrs. Smith is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. She is a registered nurse at Jackson R-2 Schools and an aerobic instructor at Main Street Fitness.
The groom received a degree in industrial technology from Southeast in 2000. He is employed at S&W Cabinets in Chaffee, Mo.
After a wedding trip to Disney World and Orlando, Fla., the couple resides in Jackson.
