WEDDINGS: SHELTON-MCCONNELL

SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Lesli Dawn Shelton and Timothy Alan McConnell were married April 28, 2001, at First General Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Frank Bain, uncle of the bride, performed the double ring ceremony. Music was provided by Shane Steck of Cape Girardeau.

The bride is the daughter of Gary and Marilyn Kay Jones of Scott City and Donald Shelton of Kelso, Mo. The groom is the son of Merlin and Johnetta McConnell of Scott City.

Maid of honor was Becky Vetter of Scott City. Bridesmaids were Jamie Pell of Jackson, Mo., Nicole Wadlington of St. Charles, Mo., Dana Wright of Scott City, and Sonia Shelton of Kelso, sister-in-law of the bride.

Lance McConnell of Jackson served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Craig Sander and Jon Craiglow of Jackson, Mike Uelsmann of Scott City, and Kevin Shelton of Kelso, brother of the bride.

Candlelighter was Cortney Shelton, daughter of Kevin and Sonia Shelton and niece of the bride.

Flower girls were Ashley Shelton and Jessica Hunt. Ashley is the daughter of Kevin and Sonia Shelton and niece of the bride. Jessica is the daughter of Dennis and Lisa Hunt of Springfield, Va., and cousin of the bride. Ringbearer was Jacob McConnell, son of Lance and Cindy McConnell and nephew of the groom.

Following the ceremony, the reception was held at Drury Lodge. Servers were Lori Glasscock, Cindy McConnell, Lindsey Rickman, Julie Sander and Julie Sharp.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner April 27 at Port Cape Girardeau.

Mrs. McConnell received a bachelor of science degree in business administration. She is a claims representative with Progressive Insurance in Cape Girardeau.

The groom is a chief engineer with Mid South Towing Co. of Metropolis, Ill.

The couple resides in Scott City.
