First Assembly of God Church was the setting May 29, 1999, for the wedding of Rebecca Ann Lewis and Joshua Charles LaMar. The Rev. Gary Brothers performed the double ring ceremony. Music was provided by a string quartet comprised of Melvin Gilhaus, Steve Schaffner, Dr. Gary Miller and Kirk Miller; pianist was Matt Yount, all of Cape Girardeau.

The bride is the daughter of Karen Lewis, and the groom is the son of Ken and Phyllis LaMar, all of Cape Girardeau.

Sarah Palazola of Nashville, Tenn., was maid of honor. Bridesmaid was Erin Kalberer of Bismarck, N.D.

The groom chose Matthew Kiesling of Schaumburg, Ill., as best man. Groomsman was Rob Giles of Cape Girardeau. Ushers were Justin Newberry of Cape Girardeau and Christopher Crawford of Jackson.

Flower girls were Haley Sample and Amanda Shrum of Cape Girardeau. Haley is the daughter of Kim Sample. Amanda is the daughter of Jim and Jeanne Shrum and cousin of the groom.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Drury Lodge. Servers were Christina Lewis of Cape Girardeau and Brenda Lewis of Columbia, sisters-in-law of the bride.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner May 28 at Mollie's Cafe and Bar.

Mrs. LaMar is a 1995 graduate of Central High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Southeast Missouri State University in May 1999.

The groom is a 1995 graduate of Central High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in music education from Southeast in May 1999. He is band director at Fox High School in Arnold.

After a cruise to the Bahamas, the couple resides in St. Louis.
