Jessica Montgomery Ford and Cpl. Joey Alan Carrington were united in marriage Oct. 7, 2000, at Centenary United Methodist Church. The Rev. Clayton Smith performed the double ring ceremony. Organist and pianist was Mary Miller of Cape Girardeau. Soloists were Julie Shamel and Leslie Buck of Cape Girardeau.
Parents of the bride are John Ford of Springfield, Mo., and Van and Mary Kay Smith of Cape Girardeau. The groom is the son of David and Torchie Beatty of Frisco, Texas, and Charles Carrington of Fort Worth, Texas.
Kristin Denny of Springfield was her sister's matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Michele Sechrest and Julie Smith, sister-in-law of the bride, both of Jackson, Mo.
Best man was Royce Denny of Springfield, brother-in-law of the bride. Groomsmen were Ryan Gosche of Rolla, Mo., cousin of the bride, and John Smith of Jackson, stepbrother of the bride. Usher was Benjamin Gosche of Cape Girardeau, cousin of the bride.
Sarah Gosche of Cape Girardeau, cousin of the bride, was candlelighter.
Flower girl was Taylor Denny, daughter of Royce and Kristin Denny and niece of the bride.
April Watson of Cape Girardeau attended the guest book and photograph of the couple.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at Cape Girardeau Country Club. Servers were Pam Stovall of Jackson and Donna Anderson of Scott City, Mo.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Oct. 6 at Port Cape Girardeau Restaurant.
Mrs. Carrington is a graduate of Kickapoo High School in Springfield. She received a bachelor of arts degree in educational and counseling psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1996. She expects to receive a master of arts degree in communication disorders from Southeast Missouri State University in August.
The groom is a graduate of Little Elm High School in Frisco. He is a corporal in the U.S. Army, and is a satellite communications specialist with the Special Forces Group-Airborne Division based in Fort Campbell, Ky.
The couple resides in Jackson.
