Sherry Jeannine Cook and Michael Dean Ford were united in marriage July 8, 2000, at First Baptist Church in Jackson, Mo. The double ring ceremony was performed by Jim Matthews. Pianist was Geri Beussink of Jackson, saxophonist was Eric McGowen of Cape Girardeau, and soloists were Lisa Barrett and Julia Pitt, formerly of Jackson.
Ron and Sandra Cook of Whitewater, Mo., are parents of the bride. Ford is the son of Elmer and Sherry Ford of Cape Girardeau.
Maid of honor was Ronna Cook, sister of the bride, and matron of honor was Shauna Criddle, twin sister of the bride, both of Jackson. Bridesmaids were Laura Chambless of Cape Girardeau, sister of the groom; Andrea Miller of Kansas City; Heidi Crowden of Jackson; and Julie Needham of Springfield, Mo., cousin of the bride.
The groom chose Tom Richards of Cape Girardeau and J.P. Clubb of Columbia, Mo., as best men. Groomsmen were Neil Sanders of Festus, Mo., Jeff Riley of St. Louis, Joey Hoover and Josh Lee of Cape Girardeau. Ushers were Jamie Criddle of Jackson, brother-in-law of the bride; Rick Chambless of Cape Girardeau, brother-in-law of the groom; David Brummel of Cape Girardeau; and Andy Fiehler of Lexington, Ky.
Lesley Dalton of Jackson attended the guest book.
Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance was held at Drury Lodge. Servers were Joyce Needham, Cynthia Matthew, Shirley Bond and Teresa Cook, aunts of the bride.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner July 7 in the church fellowship hall.
Mrs. Ford is a 1995 graduate of Jackson High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Southeast Missouri State University in 1999. She is a sixth grade teacher at Jackson Middle School.
The groom is a 1995 graduate of Central High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice from Southeast in 1999. He is a sales representative with Fastenal Co. in Cape Girardeau.
After a wedding trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple is residing in Jackson.
