Amy Elizabeth Case and Bryan Scott Altenthal were united in marriage Aug. 7, 1999, at Grace United Methodist Church. The Rev. Larry Gallamore performed the double ring ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Ed Case of Cape Girardeau and Mr. and Mrs. Scott Altenthal of Jackson.

Heather McHughs of Thebes, Ill., sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Tracy Bertrand of Cape Girardeau, Cara Duncan of Chaffee, and Bekki Haman of Biloxi, Miss., sister of the groom.

The groom chose his father as best man. Groomsmen were Micah Janzow and Tyler Downs of Cape Girardeau, and Chris Taylor of Jackson. Ushers were Byron Pletcher of Cape Girardeau, Greg Hellwege of St. Charles, and Lance Haman of Biloxi.

Flower girls were Kaitlyn and Allyson McHughs, daughters of Shannon and Heather McHughs and nieces of the bride.

Candlelighters were Stephanie LeDure of Cape Girardeau, and Emily Pigg of Mt. Vernon, Ill., cousin of the bride.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jackson. Servers were Dee Smith of Colorado Springs, Colo., grandmother of the bride, and Shelly Wilson of Jackson.

Mrs. Altenthal is a 1996 graduate of Central High School. She expects to receive a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Southeast Missouri State University in May 2001. She is employed at JCPenney Portrait Studio.

The groom is a 1994 graduate of Central High School, and recently completed firefighter training. He is employed at Lowe's.

The couple resides in Cape Girardeau.
